Own the club. Monmouth Town is a club owned by the community it serves. The Five Pound Football Club community has an agreement to acquire a 51% stake in Monmouth Town - in an online model similar to the '50+1' model in Germany, where fans own 51% of most clubs.
Never miss a match. As owners, you'll need to know what's going on at Monmouth Town, including the latest news, match reports and highlights. All the information is available online and your opinion counts - so read, rate and respond to get your views across.
Increase your authority. You, and the other owners, decide how to invest the funds that are raised. Invest additional funds to increase your authority rating, which rises with your personal level of investment. Will you use your increased authority to campaign for a star signing, creating links with local clubs or providing free tickets for schools? Leave a legacy.
How it works
You will become a member of the Five Pound Football Club community by entering your details, agreeing to the Rules and submitting a payment of five pounds. The Five Pound Football Club community will have a democratically elected committee and president, with elections held every two years.
Members will be elected to the committee to champion the areas for investment: playing budget contributions, facilities improvement and community development. Our club president and committee members will play a vital role in ensuring that the views and opinions of our community members are presented and considered.
Membership and investment
We want to keep our community as accessible as possible, which is why the minimum commitment is just five pounds per season. The membership contributions are pooled to form our investment fund, which will be used to invest in Monmouth Town.
Monmouth Town will be run within its means and our community will decide how to distribute the investment fund. There is the option to invest more than five pounds per season. Additional payments are rewarded with authority points, although there is a cap on the amount of authority points that can be gained per member each season.
