Pre-season at the Five Pound Football Club
August is approaching fast and our community is still expanding - we now have over 350 members. It's been just over two months since the launch of our Five Pound Football Club. Last week there was an article published in Dexy's Den, the excellent blog by UK Football Finder, that gave five reasons to join our community. We made another appearance in the Independent on Sunday too, where Phil Shaw talked about the Five Pound Football Club and took a closer look at one of the most popular clubs in the members area at the moment - Abergavenny Thursdays.
Nearing our first membership target
June is drawing to a close and the World Cup is well underway - albeit without England from now on. Our new Five Pound Football Club site has been live for just over a month now and we're well on our way to meeting our first membership target - 500 founder members. We're well over halfway towards our first membership target - 500 members. In addition to our referral scheme, Five Pound Football Club is proud to release the details of our Money Back Guarantee. It's simple, if our community has not invested in a club within 18 months of receiving the first payment, the balance of the investment fund contributions will be refunded to members (as per our Terms and Conditions).
Our community has received more online exposure recently, the Los Wonderkids community have donated some ad space (take a look at the ad on their homepage) and provided a link in support of our community. The writers at Football Manager Story have also provided an ad on their site, with an article on our community too.
Membership referral scheme
Last week we introduced the Five Pound Football Club membership referral scheme. Every member is issued with a unique referral link that they can use to help promote our community. If someone signs up when using your link - you'll get some bonus authority points.

Relaunch weekend
We've had a great weekend of football with Blackpool winning the play-offs to reach the Premier League and Inter Milan winning the Champions League. Over the weekend (on May 22) we successfully relaunched our website too, revealing a sleek new look that's easy to navigate. We've still got some exciting new functions that we'll be adding in over the next couple of weeks. Within a couple of days we'd welcomed over 100 members.
Our Five Pound Football club has been mentioned in a number of blogs so far this month. At the beginning of May our community was featured on ThirdKit.com, an exciting new American blog. The build up to the launch was documented on the Footballbits blog and Nicole Carroll has blogged about the relaunched site in From the Press Box.
